The "Gee Twins" Butterfly pins were created to raise Lupus awareness. Here, in their words, is their story:    These fabric butterfly pins were designed and handcrafted by The Gee Twins for Lupus, Deidre (Gee) Baptista and Kirsten (Gee) Maeda. We are identical twins, creative, passionate Lupus Advocates and Lupus of Northern CA Board Members. We designed and wore the pins while lobbying in Washington DC in March 2012  with The Lupus Research Institute (LRI) and Lupus LA. The pins sparked conversation and were well received while lobbying.  We sincerely hope they will bring support for Lupus awareness and hope towards a cure.   Read More about the Gee Twins here.

The GEE Twins’ Lupus Awareness Pins - The pins have been given to patients, caregivers, been part of lupus fashion shows, lupus fundraising walks, seen on NBC when new lupus research has been discovered, given to legislative members of Congress, physicians and has been a symbol of hope for many.  The pins were also the focus of a scientific abstract at a Lupus conference and poster session. It is with much honor the pins continue to bring hope as it was part of the launch of a new FDA approved Lupus medication 2021.  Deidre and Kirsten spent hours creating over 4,000 of their pins with friends and family and generously donated all proceeds of the Saphnello Astra Zeneca collaboration to the Lupus Foundation of Northern California.   The Gee Twins for Lupus butterfly pins continue to bring hope around the globe.  Thank you for supporting.
